Each year the IGO Graduate Program offers outstanding university graduates a 2-3 year program starting with us early in the year with the aim of supporting them in their transition from study to career.
Our program is designed to focus on the needs of the individual and to educate, challenge and reward graduates in a work environment that will foster and develop them into future leaders and technical experts. Graduates assume real roles with real on-the-job responsibilities and work to investigate and solve real business issues. From the moment a graduate commences with IGO, we are committed to playing a part in the development of their career.
Applications for our Graduate Program open 1 Feb each year.
The IGO Vacation Program offers both undergraduate and post graduate students the opportunity to participate in a 12-week program held over the summer break - commencing in November each year with the prospect of securing a Graduate position. We place great importance in our Vacation Program as we recognise the future of our mining industry and business success depends upon supporting today's students. That's why our paid Vacation Program introduces students across different disciplines to a range of work functions to ensure critical industry experience is gained by them to broaden the student's future employment opportunities. Our program is specifically designed to optimise students' exposure and practical experience in their chosen discipline.
Applications for our Graduate Program open 1 Feb each year.
At IGO we are committed to ensuring our communities benefit from our growth and are actively creating engaging and purposeful opportunities for people of Ngadju heritage to work with us at our Nova Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Operation, located in the Fraser Range region of Western Australia.
The Ngadju Traineeship Program provides an entry level 2-Year program which empowers trainees to gain experience across the exploration and mining cycle.
This is a flexible and supportive program, where trainees are offered the opportunity to work in different positions with the choice to undertake formal studies during the program (if desired). IGO encourages trainees to choose their own path and provides mentoring and support to enable trainees to achieve their definition of success at the end of the program.
Applications for our Ngadju Employment Traineeships will open mid-2022.

Register Your Interest"I have thoroughly enjoyed the IGO Vacation Program. Throughout the program I had the opportunity to apply what I have been learning in my studies, as well as gain practical hands-on experience and insights into the everyday work of an exploration geologist.
One of the best parts of the experience has been the team I've worked with, whose dedication to their work has only been outweighed by the fun they have while doing it.
I would recommend IGO's Vacation Program to any university student looking to gain experience with a company that is supportive and dynamic."
"The IGO Vacation Program has allowed me to experience the specific roles and responsibilities of a mining engineer that I thought I wouldn't get to experience until I graduated. Getting exposure to the planning and scheduling department allowed me to learn new skills and programs, like creating a short-term schedule for the mine and building data analytic models for underground equipment used at Nova.
It was also a great opportunity to explore and learn about many of the other roles on a mine site because everyone here is approachable and passionate about the work they do.
I would highly recommend a vacation work placement before graduating. If not for anything else, to gain new skills and knowledge that will help with classes and make an all-round, better engineer."
"The IGO vacation program has given me valuable hands-on experience and mining industry insight.
I have had the opportunity to learn from industry professionals who are passionate and approachable. The working environment at IGO is supportive and diverse.
I recommend the IGO vacation program to students seeking practical experience at a company with a difference."
