At IGO, our ability to explore, develop and operate relies fundamentally on the trust and support of the communities where we work.

We recognise that responsible mining requires access to Country, protection of cultural heritage and the delivery of meaningful economic opportunities for host communities.

Our host communities - including First Nations peoples on whose Country we operate - are not simply stakeholders to engage with, but respected partners that we work with to create and sustain value.

IGO Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, our second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2025–2027 sets out the actions we will take to deepen relationships with the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live and work, and with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Building on the foundations of our first Innovate RAP, this plan strengthens our commitment to cultural respect and inclusion by introducing new initiatives that create meaningful engagement and deliver tangible social and economic outcomes.

Our vision for reconciliation remains focused on fostering strong, enduring partnerships with First Nations communities - recognising and celebrating cultural heritage while advancing opportunities for equity within our organisation and beyond.

Through this RAP, we formalise and expand the work already underway across IGO, bringing our people together in a purposeful process of collaboration, reflection, and action to drive lasting change.

Community Partnerships 

At IGO, we are committed to taking meaningful action today to help shape a brighter and better tomorrow for our people, community, and environment. We recognise the value and importance of contributing to the community, and our corporate giving program enables us to provide both financial and in-kind support. This program is centered on building meaningful relationships with our corporate giving partners, ensuring our contributions have a positive and lasting impact. 

Our corporate giving activities are reported annually in IGO’s Sustainability Report, highlighting our ongoing efforts to support the community through various partnerships and initiatives.

IGO Partnerships

Ronald McDonald House WA

IGO is a dedicated partner of Ronald McDonald House WA (RMH WA), supporting their important mission to provide comfort and care for regional families whose children require medical treatment in Perth. As the presenting partner of the Up All Night overnight walking marathon, which brings together around 1,000 participants each year to raise essential funds that support accommodation, programs, and services for these families. Our team members actively participate as walkers, fundraisers, and volunteers at the IGO pit stop during the event. 

Through our involvement in the Home for Dinner program, IGO employees have the opportunity to prepare nourishing meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House, helping to create a sense of home during challenging times. Additionally, our annual commitment to the Adopt a Room initiative ensures that families have access to quality accommodation, 24/7 support staff, home-cooked meals, wellbeing initiatives, and play and learning programs. This partnership reflects IGO’s ongoing commitment to supporting families facing significant health challenges and to strengthening community connections across Western Australia.

Perth Zoo

We are proud to be a long-standing corporate partner of Perth Zoo, supporting its mission to conserve Western Australia’s unique biodiversity and protect endangered species. Through this partnership, we contribute to the Habitats for Wildlife remote learning program, which provides educational opportunities to regional students. The collaboration also fosters employee engagement through volunteering days, behind-the-scenes experiences, and educational sessions, further demonstrating IGO’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community connection. 

MADALAH  

IGO supports MADALAH because we believe in the transformative power of education for individuals and communities, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. By partnering with MADALAH, IGO helps provide scholarships that enable students from regional and remote areas to access quality secondary and tertiary education. This support aligns with our dedication to fostering greater diversity, equity, and opportunity, while helping to build the next generation of leaders who will contribute to the social and economic fabric of Western Australia.

Future Female Leaders Program 

As a Visionary Supporter of the Future Female Leaders program, IGO is committed to empowering young women in Western Australia by providing mentorship, leadership training, and real-world project experience. Through this partnership, IGO works to break down gender barriers and create pathways for future female leaders in industries where women remain underrepresented. The program also offers IGO employees the opportunity to serve as mentors, share their expertise, and participate in masterclasses, creating a two-way learning experience that benefits both students and staff. This sponsorship reflects IGO’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aligns with our Environmental, Social and Governance priorities, and reinforces our goal of building a more inclusive workforce and community. 

CoRE Learning Foundation 

At IGO, we understand the critical importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in equipping future generations with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. By nurturing curiosity and innovation, STEM learning empowers students to tackle complex challenges and opens pathways to exciting careers in industries that drive Australia’s progress. 

Our partnership with the CoRE Learning Foundation is central to this commitment. Through direct funding, we support the implementation of hands-on STEM programs at Norseman District High School and other Goldfields schools, providing students with practical, real-world experiences that bring science and technology to life. This collaboration not only enhances classroom learning but also inspires young minds to pursue further study and careers in STEM. In addition to our partnership, IGO staff support CoRE events like the Resources Challenge and Kent Street Showcase by serving as judges and advisors.
